In our prior lives - before chimneys - John was a truck driver and Joan was a bookkeeper. Both working for other companies. Wanting to experience a little freedom, we decided to venture out on our own and become our own bosses; become self-employed! Somehow John stumbled onto Chimney Sweeping and here we are today! We started out slow and worked only on days off and weekends. We found that it actually worked, quit our other jobs and went full time. Thanks to all our wonderful customers and all their good words we have just continually grown into what and who we are today.

We are members of the Golden State Chimney Sweep Guild (GSCSG). John was a Director of this organization for the past 8 years, the last 4 years as Treasurer. His past positions were Membership and then Secretary. John is also certified #3309 by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). He also holds a certification from the National Fireplace Institute (NFI), #105486 as a Gas Specialist and Pellet Stove Specialist and is factory certified by Avalon, Regency, Waterford, Austroflamm and Whitfield. John is also a licensed contractor with the State of California, license #712118. Master Sweep-N-Clean is also a member of Hearth, Patio and Barbeque Association (HPBA) and National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG) and we are fully insured.
